What an amazing place Murwillumbah is.

Whether its the art deco two-street CBD,  the view from the road or the proximity to beaches or airports - Murwillumbah ticks boxes.

The revitalized town cinema, the Regent, along with several al fresco cafes and half a dozen(?) bars belie it's real reason d'etre - the Tweed Valley. Murwillumbah is the service town for the Tweed, and as the Tweed Valley develops economically, so will town.

Diversification of production in the Tweed is already reflected in a more eclectic Main St than was here in 2001, whatever the cause.

MURWILLUMTIP: Murwillumbah Museum is closed for renovations right now, but you can fulfil your craving for knowledge about local history by popping into the South Murwillumbah Post Office for an edition or two of Ron Johansen's historical series, "History of The Tweed." It is comprehensive and fascinating, and educational. I've only read two books but would recommend it as compulsory reading for any high school student.
